Ringo is a 3.5 year-old 47-pound neutered male blue merle (coat color) pure-bred Australian Cattle Dog. He is up-to-date on his shots and has no health issues. He is kept on flea, tick and heartworm preventative year round. Ringo is a very intelligent dog and knows many tricks with hand or voice commands. He is a very quick learner and loves to learn new things. He is well-trained on the leash, house-broken, crate-trained and loves to take rides in the car. He would spend hours catching the frisbee or fetching a toy for you to throw. His favorite thing to do is swim: he loves the water! He was also started in agility a couple years ago and picked it up right away.

It’s breaking my heart that I need to find him a new home but since getting married last year he does not get along with the other dogs in the house. I know it’s not fair to him to have to be crated or confined so much when he will make someone a wonderful, loyal, loving companion. I would recommend he be in a new home with only adults or older children since on the few occasions he was around younger kids it appeared he wanted to herd them. Ringo needs to be the only pet in his new home since he does not get along with all other dogs, especially when it involves toys. He would do best with someone who has had a strong-willed breed of dog previously and can give Ringo structure and make him mind his manners. We live in Harford County and can be contacted via email at smilesslh@hotmail.com or by phone at 443-307-6625. (Updated 4/26/2010)

Gibbs is a 2 year-old male red mottled, Australian Cattle Dog. He is neutered and up-to-date on shots. I have his Certificate of Registration – American Pet records. I have been fostering him for about 5 weeks. He is a very smart dog and has been through obedience classes. He is very quick to respond to come, sit stay and heel! Gibbs would LOVE to have an owner who has the time and energy to keep him going! I have worked with him on basic agility, ramps. He is great! I also have a cat, dog, and parrot. Gibbs can get a little rough on the cat, but will leave it, when commanded. He is high energy and would do well with other energetic dogs. I would love to keep him, but I just do not have the time to keep him busy. If you are interested in Gibbs, please contact me in North Andover, MA at 978-686-4297, or via email at mgring@comcast.net

Tyson is a 2 year-old ACD. I adopted him from a shelter in February 2010 but due to changes to my job cannot take care of him. He is very obedient, intelligent and sweet. He is also full of energy and needs a lot of exercising / activities. That’s the main reason I’d like to find him a new home. He would feel at home on a farm or somewhere with similar conditions. I hate seeing him being bored all the time because I am not able to dedicate him enough time to him. He is up-to-date on his shots and he is neutered. Tyson is in Montclair, NJ. For more information, please contact Vlad Molchanov at 551-427-0740. (Updated 6/28/2010)

NEW YORK

Oscar is a 15 month-old brown-and-white neutered male Australian Cattle Dog / Collie mix. He is up-to-date on all of his shots and has no health issues. He is house-broken, crate-trained, does very well in the car or on a leash and is enrolled in barkbuster’s lifetime training. Oscar loves to have family around him and does excellent with kids. He is very playful and intelligent. Oscar’s favorite game is fetch, in any variation.

Our family no longer has the time to give to Oscar that he needs. Oscar is a high-energy dog and needs the room to be able to run and play that as a family with three young children we cannot provide him with. Oscar is very strong-willed and needs an owner that can give hime the structure he needs. He is currently in active training and has done very well with the training, however, he does not handle other dogs very well. We live in Albany county and can be contacted via email aaa.warner@gmail.com or by phone (518) 322-5248.

Billy is an 8 year-old male blue heeler. He would do great in a home as the only dog with a fence so he doesn’t get the urge to explore the unknown. He loves attention and is very willing to learn new things. He enjoys going for walks but needs some time and work — he tries to see all that he can see before the walk is over. Billy is neutered, housebroken, crate-trained and fully vaccinated and would be a great companion to anyone. Billy is located in East Aurora, NY. For more information please contact Lisa (716) 984-8639 or e-mail lmattucci@netzero.net. (Updated 6/28/2010)
